This read-only field contains the name of the project for which you are setting security access restrictions.
This read-only field contains the name of the Contract Management user for whom you are setting security access restrictions.
The settings in this dialog box apply only to this user and project.
Click this link to open the Module Access dialog box, where you can set a user’s access rights for all modules at one time.
This topic describes the following:
This area contains the names of the Contract Management modules to which you can set access rights. Mark the appropriate checkboxes for the access rights you want to set for each module for this user. This controls access to all modules on the project tree.
Enables the user to view information for this module.
Enables the user to add a new document in this module. You must also have Edit rights to add line items to an existing document.
Enables the user to edit information, including adding line items, in this module.
Enables the user to export from the module. If the user does not have export rights, Contract Management removes all e_ reports from the report list when a user selects a .PBL file.
Enables the user to delete information in this module.
Leaving the checkboxes blank denies the user access to the module. The module will not appear in the Project View for that user.
In order for the Request - Answer, Request - Question, and Request - Proposed Solution fields in the Module section of the User Project Access dialog box to be available for a user, the View checkbox in the Module Requests field must be marked. Then, the Add checkbox or the Edit checkbox (or both) must be marked for those options to be available to the user. This only enables a user to answer a request, pose a question regarding a request, or propose a solution for a request. No other fields in the Requests section will be available to the user, unless they are set at the Requests level.
You can also give edit rights to the requests module, and view-only rights to the question, answer, and proposed solution fields.
Add and edit rights differ for the question, answer, and proposed solution fields. Users that have only add rights can only enter text if the field is blank. Users must have edit rights to add more information.
Mark this checkbox to authorize the user to reject or close change management documents; this user also requires Edit access to the Change Management module.
Mark to authorize the user to add up commitments items from the Change Management Commitments section and generate a document in the Change Management Budget section.
Mark this checkbox to authorize users to create letter templates for the project.
Mark to authorize the user to apply markup to documents. It also enables the Markup feature for the Project Settings dialog box, contracts, Purchase Orders, and Change Orders. If this checkbox is cleared, the Markup option will not appear in the Select an Action drop-down list for those modules.
Mark to automatically update submittals from a P6 EPPM schedule. Edit access is needed for submittals in order to perform this function.
Mark to authorize the user to edit the original estimate for a procurement item.
Issues - Linked documents that do not contain the restricted contact in the To/From fields will be filtered out of the Issues document window.
Inbox - The rows are visible for all contacts, but the message "You do not have proper access rights to view this document." will appear if you try to open a document that does not contain the restricted contact abbreviation.
Use this section to select the documents the user can approve. The user also requires Edit access to the modules.

Access by Company can be used to further restrict a user's access to project documents. In the Access by Company field, click Select and choose a company to associate with the current user. When a user is associated with a company, the user has access to documents that contain that company in the To or From fields of the document and to submittals in which that company is listed as the BIC.
Users can also view documents linked with a contract in which the user's associated company is listed as the To, From, or BIC. A request for information, notice, noncompliance notice, payment requisition, change management record, material record, or insurance record may be viewed through this method. Users can also view a material request that is linked to a requisition which is then linked to a contract in which the user's associated company is listed as the To or From.
Access by company, also known as contact-level security, is not enforced in the following modules:
Companies
Cost Worksheets
Drawings and drawing sets
Meeting minutes
Notepads
Procurement
For example, contact-level security is not enforced in Procurement. If you do not want users to see Procurement documents, switch off their access rights in the Procurement module as explained in the Module section.
