Inactivate Companies and Contacts

You can inactivate Companies and Contacts without deleting them. When a Company is made inactive, all of its Contacts are inactivated,and the Company and Contacts do not appear in dialog boxes and drop-down menus that contain lists of Companies and/or Contacts. The Company and its Contacts remain in the database, but do not appear in lists.

Notes:

To inactivate a Company:

  1. From a Company document window, click the Status tab.

  2. Mark the Inactive checkbox to inactivate (disable) the company without deleting it.

  3. Click save_and_close_button.bmp.

Note:

To reactivate the Company so that it appears in lists of  Companies, clear the Inactive checkbox.

To inactivate a Contact:

  1. From a Company document window, click the Contacts tab.

  2. Click the icon for the Contact you want to inactivate to open the Contact dialog box.

  3. Mark the Inactive checkbox to inactivate (disable) this Contact. The Contact is inactivated, but not deleted. You cannot make the key contact inactive.

  4. Click save_and_close_button.bmp.

Note:

To reactivate the Contact, clear the Inactive checkbox.
